 for any Vietnamese visa enquiries as we might be able to obtain visa-on-arrival pre-approval letters to pick up a visa on arrival at International Airports in Vietnam.

From February 1, 2017,  Vietnam E-visa (electronic visa) has been issued to foreigners directly by the Vietnamese Immigration Department visa electronic system. Effective from August 15, 2023, citizens from all countries and territories are eligible for an E-visa that is valid for a maximum of 90 days, single entry or multiple entries. E-visa works for air, land, and sea.

1. Vietnam E-visa overview

Vietnamese visa is a kind of travel document granted by Vietnamese competent authorities, providing permission to travel to and enter Vietnam.

An electronic visa (E-visa) is one of the visa types issued to foreigners by the Vietnamese Immigration Department via an electronic system. Vietnam E-visa is valid for a maximum of 90 days, single entry or multiple entries.

Outside Vietnam foreigners who want to enter Vietnam can personally apply for E-visa or through the inviting/guaranteeing agencies and organizations.

Conditions for being granted a Vietnam e-visa:
– Outside Vietnam foreigners;
– Holding a valid passport;
– Not falling into the cases of suspension from entry prescribed in Article 21 of the Law on foreigners’ entry into, exit from, transit through, and residence in Vietnam.

2. How and where to apply for Vietnam E-visa?

To apply for a Vietnam e-visa, please access the government's official website https://evisa.gov.vn, and complete the form with the required information and documents.

After that, applicants will receive a registration code and will be asked to pay a non-refundable fee online (25 USD for a single entry or 50 USD for multiple entries)
The e-visa is normally processed within 04 working days after the e-visa fee has been paid with sufficient and valid information.
In case the application needs further verification by The Ministry of Public Security, you will receive the result in 04 to 15 working days.
The working days exclude the weekend and national public holidays.

Keep in mind to enter the registration code, registration email, and date of birth to check the result in the E-visa search menu. If being approved for an E-visa, please print the E-visa to present to enter/exit Vietnam.

3. E-visa fee

E-visa fee (25 USD for a single entry or 50 USD for multiple entries) is required to be paid via electronic payment gateway as prescribed by the Immigration Department.
According to Article 5 at Resolution 30/2016/QH14 of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the e-Visa fee once submitted is NON-REFUNDABLE BY ANY REASONS as the fee is for processing of the application and is NOT DEPENDENT ON EITHER GRANTING OR REJECTION of visa.

Applicants do not have to pay anything else at the border check.

4. Which ports allow E-visa holders to enter Vietnam?

E-visa holders can enter/ exit Vietnam by air, by land border crossing, or by sea.

Visitors can touch down at any of Vietnam’s 8 international airports, including Tan Son Nhat in Ho Chi Minh City, Noi Bai in Hanoi, and Da Nang in the central region. They can also arrive via land at 16 international border gates, and via sea at 9 ports across the country.
