Places to visit: DA NANG – HOI AN – MY SON – HUE
Exploring the wonders of central Vietnam from the charming UNESCO town of Hoi An and the Cham ruins of My Son, to the former Royal Capital of Hue, having some special cuisine will provide some insight into Vietnamese history and rich culture.
CENTRAL VIETNAM TOUR ITINERARY
DAY 1: DANANG – HOI AN
Upon arrival to Da Nang airport you will be picked up and transferred by private car through the city to your hotel in Hoi An for check-in (hotel rooms are available for mid-afternoon check-in). Hoi An is a small city in Central Vietnam famous for its wooden houses, family chapels, Assembly Halls and for its silk shops. It is an exceptionally well-preserved example of a South-East Asian trading port dating from the 15th to the 19th century for Chinese, Dutch, French, Japanese, Portuguese and Arab merchants who traded mainly in high quality silks. Its buildings and its street plan reflect the influences, both indigenous and foreign, that have combined to produce this unique heritage site.

DAY 2: HOI AN FULL DAY TOUR (B, L, -)
08:30 am you will be picked up from your hotel lobby for a walking tour around this enchanting port town and visit its numerous places of interest: 400 years old Japanese Bridge, 300 years old Chinese temple, 200 years old Vietnamese former merchants’ house, the local fish market … Around the town we can see a numerous art galleries and tailor shops, get some made-to-order clothes if you like.
After lunch in local restaurant, you will have a chance to ride a “Xich Lo or pedicab” through the opposite site of Hoi An River bank where you can take a panorama of Hoi An town. Keep on the “Xich Lo” through the tiny lanes of Hoi An countryside, passing the fields of corn, sweet potatoes, beautiful local fruit-garden … Stop over the local fishing village, get on the boat for 2 hours streaming down to Cua Dai estuary to enjoy the sunset cruise on the river.

DAY 3: HALF DAY TRIP TO MY SON SANCTUARY (B, L, -)
This morning at 08:30 am we travel about 50km from Hoi An to My Son Sanctuary. It comprises many Champa temples, in a valley roughly two kilometers wide, surrounded by two mountain ranges. It was the site of religious ceremony of kings of the Champa dynasty, and was also a burial place of Champa royals and national heroes. The My Son temple complex is one of the foremost temple complexes of Hinduism in South East Asia and is the foremost heritage site of this nature in Vietnam. Though the complex has been destroyed over time, we still see many majestic ancient ruins of temples in the area.
Journey back to Hoi An town for lunch.
In the afternoon you are free at leisure for shopping or beach activities.

DAY 4: HOI AN – DANANG – HUE (B)
In the morning you are free at leisure till pick up and transfer to Hue City. On the way stop for seeing Non Nuoc stone carving village, where the local skillful sculptors create many marble products which are exported to many countries worldwide. Visit the Cham museum where displays approximately 300 sculptures, among which some are made from terracotta from the period between the 5th and 15th. We drive across the spectacular Hai Van pass and the scenic fishing village of Lang Co.
Arrive in Hue. Check in your hotel. Free at leisure.

DAY 5: HUE CITY TOUR – DEPARTURE (B, L, -)
08:30 am you will be picked up from your hotel lobby for a full day Hue city tour. A boat trip on the romantically named Perfume River visits Hue’s best-known religious sites, Thien Mu Pagoda. Then continue to discover Imperial Citadel from where the Nguyen Dynasty ruled between 1802 and 1945 including Flag Tower, Noon Gate, Nine Dynastic Urns, Nine Holy Cannons, Thai Hoa Palace, and Forbidden Purple City.
The afternoon continues with a visit to the elaborate tombs of emperors Tu Duc & Khai Dinh. This guided tour gives you a deep understanding about King’s philosophy of geomancy and how this affected royal life.
Finish the day with a visit to Dong Ba Market where everything is for sale. Transfer to Hue airport/ train station for departure to next destination.
